Understanding the Problem & My Solution

There is a Merck security risk product that displays application risk scores on a scale of 0-100 and a category of High, Medium, and Low in a dashboard view. Users were confused by the risk scaling and what the values meant, so I was tasked with creating a side modal to explain how the risk score is calculated. The final design explains what goes into a score, how the Monte Carlo risk simulations used for scoring apply to real cybersecurity impact, and actions a user can take to improve their score. The designs are implemented, used by hundreds of employees, and are patent pending as a visualization of risk simulation data.
